Editorial & Opinion Talk #2763.1:
"2763.4 in reply to 2763.1
During his time as Poland's deputy foreign minister, Mr Sikorski defended his demand that all Americans of Polish heritage, however distant, travel to Poland only and exclusively on Polish passports (extremely expensive to obtain, very slow (several months) to issue, downright dangerous in dealing with the Polish domestic bureaucreacy from hell without the safety net of US passport and US consular assistance) thus:
'Our countrymen living in the United States must comprehend that Poland is not a banana republic that can be entered at will with a foreign (ie. American) passport'.
Huh? OK. Then, in the spirit of full reciprocity, US is not one either. "
